But it (thankfully) cannot change the weather \ud83d\ude42<br \/>\nSome two weeks ago, before Elke came, it got cold, but didn&#8217;t rain&#8230; Then when they arrived, it got hot &#8212; actually very hot &#8212; again. Three days ago, we had 30\u00b0C, which is pretty unusual for winter, even around here \ud83d\ude42<\/p>\n<p>Google Now today offered this predicted weather:<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/raytec.org\/wordpress\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/06\/temperature-2016.06.12.gif\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignleft wp-image-292\" src=\"http:\/\/raytec.org\/wordpress\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/06\/temperature-2016.06.12.gif\" alt=\"temperature-2016.06.12\" width=\"378\" height=\"387\" \/><\/a>So, finally it&#8217;ll rain for an extended period! <strong>Good<\/strong>!<\/p>\n<p>The national catchment areas are at an all time low, and the one-night rain three days ago was just a tiny fraction of what&#8217;s needed to fill the water reservoirs again.<\/p>\n<p>Edit: Some interesting links on the water-levels of:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/www.capetown.gov.za\/en\/Water\/Pages\/WeeklyDamLevels.aspx\">Dam levels in Cape Town<\/a><\/li>\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/www.dwa.gov.za\/Hydrology\/Weekly\/Province.aspx\">Dam levels by Dept. of Water and Sanitation<\/a><br \/>\nSo this weeks rain has helped restore the dam levels somewhat (to overall from 29 to 35% capacity, where 80-90% level is good).<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Internet is such a beautiful thing.
