Actually on standard Linux like Ubuntu with a few packages pre-installed (like the system&#8217;s Open MPI, and for the ThirdParty&#8217;s <code>gmp-dev<\/code> and <code>mpfr-dev<\/code>) it is quite easy to install!<\/p>\n<p>However, if You want to use different settings, use different compilation options, or want to do performance analysis using <a href=\"http:\/\/www.scalasca.org\">Scalasca<\/a> or <a href=\"https:\/\/tu-dresden.de\/die_tu_dresden\/zentrale_einrichtungen\/zih\/forschung\/projekte\/vampirtrace\">VampirTrace<\/a>, things get complicated.<\/p>\n<h2>Changing compiler options<\/h2>\n<p>With regard to compiler options, it may be a good idea to compare the previous compilation with the new compilation. This requires setting <code>WM_COMPILE_OPTION<\/code> to another value, e.g. from <code>Opt<\/code> to <code>OptIp<\/code>, referring to Intel compiler&#8217;s <code>-ip<\/code> switch for single-file interprocedural optimization.<br \/>\nFurthermore, You have to copy the compiler&#8217;s rule files for Your platform, i.e. in my case the files <code>wmake\/rules\/linux64Icc\/cOptIp<\/code> and <code>wmake\/rules\/linux64Icc\/c++OptIp.<\/code><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>OpenFOAM is quite a beast to compile &#8212; first of all with regard to size, but also when You go out of the normal.
